Nella nottata del Superbowl, la Nba è stata anticipata in orario ‘europeo’. Nel matineè della domenica, 3 le partite giocatesi. I Lakers hanno vinto col brivido contro i Detroit Pistons. Vittoria anche per i Boston Celtics che hanno battuto, con merito di Paul Pierce e della sua tripla nel finale, i Los Angeles Clippers.
